Geophysicist and business management consultant, Professor Allan Trench has told a gathering of mining professionals that pathways to excel is abundant and attainable for all who are willing to learn.
Professor Trench who is also the MBA Director and Professor of Practice at University of Western Australia Business School was speaking at the 2023 Symposium by the African Mining Professionals Association of Australia (AMPAA).
“Along with strategy and problem-solving,” he says, “there are three simple steps to getting promoted, and they are; do your job really well, up-skill and network.”
AMPAA is a Non-profit networking organization for mining industry professionals in Australia and is open to individuals, organizations, body corporates, and business partnerships aligned with the association’s objectives.
During his presentation, Professor Trench referred to ten industry-defining books which he urged AMPAA members to study as a way of increasing their knowledge and negotiating skills in the workplace.
