In 2015, the Ghanaian Mineral Resource Professionals Association of Australia Inc. was established, the association established a strong foundation for growth over the next four years.

AMPAA emerged as the singular umbrella organization, uniting African-Australian mining industry professionals on a common networking platform. Established on July 15, 2019, AMPAA's headquarters are located in Perth, Western Australia.
